Hay hay! Today has been a pretty relaxing day for me, I got to spend some much needed time with my sweet cheeks (<3) and got some down time to work on this review of this awesome product for you! (I know that I told you guys I’d have the review ready a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve been working a lot and Cami gets all my free time.) So, lets get on with the review!
I’ve been using Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Cream for close to a month now. Every. Single. Day.
What It Claims
So the official product is a “BB Tinted Moisturizer”. Its an oil-free tinted moisturizer that delivers natural, sheer coverage while offering Broad Spectrum SPF 20 to shield skin from the sun’s harmful rays.
Thats it. Nothing too fancy. Nothing complicated. Just good stuff that is supposed to give you a natural look.
My Skin Type
If you read my Juice Beauty CC Cream Review then you already know what my skin is like. Otherwise, I have normal to oily skin. For the most part my skin is normal but will occasionally get oily in the t-zone. I have a few acne scars around my cheek and chin area and redness all over. Sigh…
Demo & Review
With this product I apply about a quarter size amount and is usually all I need for the entire face and a little for my neck area.
I love the consistency, its not super liquid but it will definitely droop. I dot all over my face and neck area, smooth and blend in with my hands. If I’m having one of those days where my skin is extra dry then I reach for my go to blending sponge by Embel Beauty this gives me a little extra hydration without sheering out the coverage.
This camera does a good job of hiding my red spots…but you might be able to tell that there is some redness left on my nose, so I just apply a little extra there or will go in with some concealer.
(Close Up)
I would say the coverage is a strong light to medium coverage, and you can totally do a second layer without looking cakey. It leaves me with a demi-matte look, which I love. I feel like it looks very natural. It isn’t the most hydrating BB cream, so I would urge to use your normal face moisturizer before applying the BB cream. (of course if your skin is like mine) If you have oily skin then you should be fine.
(after applying the rest of my makeup)
I love the finish it gives me, it doesn’t crease and it makes the rest of my makeup looking pretty. It also has great staying power. Lately, I’ve been working 11 hour days and this baby is still going strong at the end of the day. Sure, around my mouth area its a little worn off but that is to be expected. 🙂
The Verdict!
So let’s get down to it. . .
Do I like it? Yes, I love it!. Do I think it is worth the $36(ish) bucks I paid? Yes! Will I purchase this again? Yes!
As you can see, I absolutely love this product and honestly feel that this will work with all skin types. Just keep in mind, if you have dry skin you will need to make sure you moisturize beforehand. For all my oilys out there, you can totally get away with no moisturizer. (I think).
