Hello gorgeous! Today we’re doing a fun makeup look, a dark matte lip that is perfect for fall! You guys know I’m all about that natural makeup look, but every now and then we deserve to have fun! So today I’m sharing how to rock a matte dark lip without feeling “too much”.
I kept the face and the eyes pretty simple, clean and fresh so that the focus could all be on the dark lips. I feel like if we don’t have too much going on the rest of the face, it makes it easier to wear that dark lip. So, lets get on with it! I also did a talk thru Youtube video on the look! So scroll all the way to the end to check it out, or click here to see it!
Some of the following links are affiliate, but at NO additional cost to you. All opinions are honest and my own.
I started off this look by applying my Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation Stick Broad Spectrum. Applied directly onto my skin then blended out with a flat brush. I then moved on to concelear/highlither and used the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch – 2 Luminous Radiance and blended with my finger. Once they were all applied I went over my entire face with a damp beauty sponge, just to make sure everything was set and seamless.
For the yes I used the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel palette. I used a light orange matte shadow on the crease, using a very light hand.
On the lid I used a shimmery champagne color. This is just to add a little bit of definition to the eyes, nothing crazy. We want to keep the dark lip as the focus!
I then curled my lashes with THE BEST EYELASH CURLER EVER by Kevyn Aucoin and applied L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise in waterproof black.
For bronzer I used a good old matte Too Faced Chocolate Soleil.
For the fun part…I used the Be Matte Liquid Lipstick in Homeslice. Amazing! Loved the consistency and they have a bunch of different colors <3
I applied a little bit of blush, and tada!!
